Why not GDP? Why HDI?
Taking an example of the most populated nation state, as of May 2025, India was ranked fourth in the world for GDP after USA, China & Germany. GDP can increase if the rich gets richer! But for HDI to increase many CRITICAL factors: Education, Health, Income Equity should!
However, India’s Human Development Index (HDI) value in 2025 was 0.685. India’s HDI rank was 130 out of 193 countries.
Maximum part of India lives like urban poor or in rural villages where there is no access to good education, healthcare or high paying employment or enough support for entrepreneurship

Now, let us go a step further with HDI 2.0 which is based on modern multidemensional metrics. The Holistic Development Index (HDI 2.0) is a way to measure how well a country is doing, not just by money (like GDP), but by looking at four key areas. The following index is not based on STUPID statistical averages! But on the total well being and happiness of currently the poorest and most down-trodden! This is possible with modern tech and AI
The Antyodaya Principle, rooted in the vision of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, means uplifting the last person in society — ensuring that the poorest, most vulnerable, and most marginalized receive priority in development and welfare. It promotes integral humanism, where economic, social, and spiritual well-being of every individual — especially the weakest — is essential for a just and harmonious society. In short: “Progress is real only when it reaches the last person first.”
